Main channel: Mystery ISA card with a full Z80 computer on board

I had a very old friend visiting me in Portland for 7 days, so I took a "mini" vacation from the channels so we could hang out and I could show him around. Then I had an eye exam yesterday morning which dilated my eyes and made it impossible to anything for the rest of the day.
Now I'm back at it and I just realized I never posted this early video here for early access. Beyond that, it's funny when you are one-person operation, when you step away for a bit things really pile up and now I'm playing catch-up.
This is a fascinating card that I found inside an old diskless IBM PC 5150. It appears to have a Z80 CPU on board, so what is it exactly? Let's discover that together!

i wish i could get my hands on one of the 5150's (even if they are in bad shape) it would be a learning experience on trying to repair them Great video and educational as usual.

2025-05-12 17:36:42 +0000 UTCHello Adrian. Your channels are awesome, watch every video on them. But i have a little complaint. Is it just me or is this Youtube Video going private thing happening more often on your channels than other known Youtubers on Patreon like LGR, Tech Tangents, ... Usually i get the message from Patreon, copy the youtube link in my watchlist, excited to watch them when i have time, then clicking on the link and "The video went to private" bummer. Even more annoying, when the video switches to private, the public version is not released yet. Then you basically have nothing. If that happens please put out a message, i had to set that video to private, because there was a sound error in the video, somebody claimed copyright or whatever. Maybe also a problem is changing existing Patreon posts, for example changing links in those posts, i do not think patreon sends out a new message to people. Thanks.
