The colors definitely will help with the piece too. The blue and red both representing events of sadness and anger respectively and all accumulating to that point, aka the figure. They are also all personal events that have happened that made me feel that certain way. Sorry if i sound all over the place, but hope this helps! :D

When I see this piece, I notice a theme of overwhelm (number of background stressors with topics like failure, pressure, rejection/judgment/dismissal), and that theme is also communicated by the figure (gorgeous rendering btw). The colors for the background made me wonder if the stressors were connected by themes.
