[POLL] Shorter, more frequent chapters?
Added 2018-11-15 13:29:09 +0000 UTCHello!
I've been considering this question for a long time. As I've said before, I think frequency of releases is one of the most important factors in a chapter-based game. Right now, each chapter of Into the Forest takes 2 months of development, which is kinda slow in my opinion.
I would love to release an Into the Forest chapter each month, but that would mean every chapter should be shorter, with around 5 CGs instead of the usual 9.
But of course, I need your opinion on this, so... How does this sound for you?

If you go for the wallpaper idea, I suggest to make them more "zoomed out" than your usual pictures (showing not just one person, but a little of the surroundings as well). In any case, don't fret, I think your patrons will be patient as long as you talk to them and post *something* every month. And if it's only a status report.

2018-11-16 17:44:31 +0000 UTCMaybe you can release extra art or something in the months without story progression (every second month)? Like 3 extra CGs, each expanding on one of the sex scenes from the recent chapter, but just zipped JPEGs (1920x1080, usable as wallpaper) and seperate from the game?

2018-11-15 19:33:50 +0000 UTCI think you should look at it from the final product: How many chapters is it supposed to have? From the flow of the story, the two chapters you've written feel natural so far. Or, if this was a TV series: Yes, the first episode would end with the murder as a cliffhanger, and the second with your forced overnight stay at the mansion and the surprise guest. Good pacing. Making the chapters shorter (both in text and CGs) would've been a loss.
