Concept pool... but different
Added 2024-04-05 13:05:03 +0000 UTCI've been seeing lots of people liking the jack-o-pose nikkes, so i've been thinking we should make it a concept~
But now I need your feedback on the process.
Let's say I was about to draw another Nikke in Jacko, let's say I'm drawing Nihilister (I'm not), would you guys prefer me to:
1. Use the same lineart as for Elegg, with a bit the same body shading, but change couple things like arm position, face, ass/tits size and reskin the character (aka it would be nihilister but in the same exact pose with slight pose changes, meaning the shading doesn't change much either beside the skintone)
OR
2. Draw a completely different jack-o-pose for each Nikke i'll be doing, different shading, different perspective, a bit diff pose, aka start from 0
Concept drawings might go for merch at some point, like posters or stickers. So choose! This one makes my process up to you ^_^

Actually, pretty good idea! I will definitely implement that! And yeah, most jacko poses are similiar because of body positionnement. The only difference it can make is either back or front piece. I guess 2 templates for either front or back would be a great alternative to have for future concepts. Because sadly, beside hand positionning, face expressions, hair and hair color, and body weight/size, i can't see what else can be 'changed' for jacko. I think it would definitely be less work if I went with option 1, and I'd be able to do a collection of 10 nikkes in a pretty small amount of time, considering i could release 2-3 per month. But I also don't want to feel like scamming nobody since the body shading wouldn't change much beside the skintone. So i'm really conflicted on this one. Unless I keep the lineart and wholely change the light source, which would make me change whole shading. But I think we can try doing 1 Nikke in the same front pose just to see how the changes i mentionned can actually impact the finished result

2024-04-05 14:18:25 +0000 UTCI suppose from where I stand, looking at several pieces of how this pose is done, a new variation for each does not create as much actual difference between each for the work given that the pose is locked. I feel like creating a backside variation and then subsequently providing a choice on whether we want the front or back template for future pieces might be a good middle ground as well

2024-04-05 13:19:18 +0000 UTCStill thinking about those vtubers in a pool I see 🤣😏. I picked 2, cause I think that would be kinda cool to have different versions, especially when it comes to merch ^^. But I also know, that this will be way more work for you...so I'm definitely conflicted...let's see what other people choose.
