This is quite a lot of stuff so forgive me if I'm unable to respond to it all. Thank you for writing it all actually before I begin lmao. 1. Yes, Bell is technically under the category of 'weak' in Michael's eyes, but he won't remain that way forever. The point Michael was making was that it was stupid throwing your life away against someone much stronger when there was nothing on the line that required such. This lesson has already been ingrained into Bell's head by Michael, but who knows if Bell will follow with how dumb he is regarding being a hero. 2. I'd like to emphasize how Amaterasu is basically in a situation similar to Freya, except way worse. She wants Michael, She needs Michael, she's not strong enough to force Michael into her Familia like Freya can. If Michael fucked off now, she could basically do nothing after she admitted all the she did to him. Michael has all the cards when it comes to Amaterasu, that's why he's so chill after he has his talk with her. He knows that, with a little bit of effort, he could potentially gain an ally in all of the Far East by simply indebting Amaterasu and the Royal Court to himself. He is literally Amaterasu's ideal dream, except unlike Freya, he's the one in control. 3. I will admit that Michael hasn't shown off too much yet, but that's because he felt it was too early. Believe it or not, Michael WON his fight against Hikari. You need to understand that Michael was expending magic on creating the Meteor threat, fighting Hikari, and keeping an eye out for the others who were coming all the while he was playing around with Hikari. Hikari's chant took an ENTIRE MINUTE, and Michael did NOTHING to stop her. He stood there staring her directly in the eye as she charged her strongest attack, doing nothing until she finally attacked him. THEN he TANKED the hit and came out unscathed. Michael showed Hikari levels, but she thought she was the higher one there. She may have had higher stats, but Michael's hacks showed that she was nowhere near the level needed to knock him out like she tried to do. Hikari knew after the battle that their little tussle would end as a draw as a best case scenario, and when the meteor came out that was basically the signal for it being game over. Continuing this, Michael literally ended the battle between Yomi and the Royal Court singlehandedly. There was going to be a battle that would've most likely lasted a few hours at the least, yet a single burst of Conqueror's and two words (Shinra Tensei) ended the battle right there and then, and the big boss lady ran away with her goals unfulfilled and her tail in between her legs. I don't know what else you expected from that battle. 4. As a reminder, Michael isn't acting chummy with the Royal Court considering how his Conqueror's literally knocked out every single Royal Court soldier on the battlefield and his Shinra Tensei killed several dozen as well because Michael did not give enough fucks. Sure, he gave them a decisive victory, but he was just angry at Youko and wanted to wreck havoc on the battlefield. It just so happens that this just happened to be the best victory the Far East has landed in years. Look at Michael's interactions with Hikari and Amaterasu. He is being treated by the Goddess and Leader of the Far East as an EQUAL. I'd also recommend that you check how Amaterasu treated Susanoo. Not even he got that treatment. Michael's hostility regarding Freya is due to her strength still being too far beyond his current capabilities, and if you remember in chapter 15, Freya noted that Michael only has interest in women weaker than him yet still strong and how he acts indifferently to anyone stronger than him. Guess who's strong yet Michael deems weaker than him? Ahem. That was a long analysis huh? My bad for that. Thanks for your comment though, it certainly gave me time to refresh my thoughts about everything. I hope I've cleared a lot of stuff up with this. Apologies if these themes are too obscured or hard to identify at first glance, I like to leave a lot of stuff to interpretation so that the fic is more interesting.

He literally described Bell, who he had gone out of his way with Edias so he wouldn't die in the dungeon. And as for his arrogance dissapearing when dealing with Amaterasu and co, he was pissed when being called an asset, yet he has no problem when Amaterasu pulled all that bullshit of recalling him in order to use him as bait and just plays along with it. Says he doesn't want to be involved with the Far East, yet jumps directly to their schemes. He claims to be stronger than anyone else, yet when figthing Hikari who was using lethal force (because I don't know what else to call someone just erasing almost half of your body), he never did actually damage more than her clothes, just dragging the fight. From what we see, he isn't the strongest, just a durable punching bag. The same with the ninja who tried to murder him, he boasts about his strenght...yet never uses it till the end...and she escaped. Literally all bark no bit with him. The only proof of strenght (aside from being a durable punchbag) was the meteorites to threaten dropping them. And as it was mentioned in story, as soon as Miyu shows up, he folds instantly. And yes, he was casual with Amaterasu, yet not disrespectul (at least in this chapter, and aside from not bowing). Heck he was even much more hostile to Freya, and that was just by her canon actions as in the story so far, she hasn't done anything to Michael compared to Ama. You say he is arrogant with the Ama familia, yet I only see him saying arrogant stuff about the weak, while being all chummy buddies with them.

2023-07-25 16:08:22 +0000 UTCI mean, yeah that's kind of the point. If it makes you feel any better, Michael subconsciously keeps track of himself so he doesn't ever get too brain dead arrogant. Grand Hubris requires you to actually believe in your own arrogance, so he's kinda self-hypnotizing himself into believing it and banking on Edias and himself to hold back if he ever gets close to going too far. Also, spoiler warning, we may or may not discover Edias's origin in this arc... Heh.

I'm aware that things have been a bit confusing recently, but I'd like to learn of what you've seen that seems to be all over the place. How did his arrogance evaporate when dealing with Amaterasu and her Familia? Just this chapter he was basically talking casually with a Goddess Queen without showing even an iota of respect.

I like Amaterasu in this chapter, another Yandere for the Yandere god. Would reverse curse energy allow a type of eternal youth? Add using it to impregnate goddesses and he really could settle down with his yandere goddess harem. I'm pretty sure Edias is some kinda of goddess, I'm betting Gaia just for her relationship with Ouranos and her domain is the earth... Maybe Tartarus.

Not only is he completetly different from just a couple chapters ago with how extremely arrogant he is, while I know it's to advance the plot, all that arrogance seems to evaporate when dealing with Amaterasu and her familia.
