Like the skill being attributed to his arrogance, that is awesome! An I was very pleased with this chapter overall. It answered alot of questions I had in mind and opens up even more, which is a good thing. Ammy's and Tsuki's abilities are broken but at the same time so fitting that I was shocked in their usage.

2023-06-22 00:01:34 +0000 UTCIf someone plays dirty in that way, they should expect the same right back. They go for his Familia? He'd blow their entire country to hell with everything he has. You've also seen how 'regretful' a lot of them seemed after finding out that he wasn't actually Far Eastern. The only person Michael needed to be wary of was Amaterasu, who was the only one that knew he wasn't Far Eastern. You're also forgetting, kidnapping his familia is a direct attack on Orario. Michael is 'supposedly' from the Far East, so it's fine for them to try and take him. Bell, Lily, or anyone else from his Familia? That's a foreign country going into yours and just taking some of your inhabitants (ones that are quite talented, specifically Bell, by the way) forcefully in a kidnapping. It's not gonna go well. The Guild would just throw a bunch of money at one of the stronger familias to deal with the Far East, just like what they do with Ares's joke country.

Did you not see the new skill he gained from leveling up in this chapter? Grand Hubris? Do you think he'd give up a chance to lord over a leader of a country, a goddess that reigned over several dozen other gods, and whoever else heard of his power and potential? He truly holds the belief that he was untouchable in this situation, and welcomed anyone who thought otherwise. Is it not fitting for a user of Grand Hubris to GIVE his potential enemies more reason to try and capture him?

What would make more sense to you, an ability to heal that requires touch as he did, or that he can heal whatever without doing the unnecessary pause and touch he did? Besides, my main problem isn't really that, it's how, despite telling them how his abilities work, he just went and gave them more reasons to kidnap him. What is the loss of a couple high levels in exchange for an OP adventurer who can genetically pass all his OP abilities (without magic)? Clearly, the benefits outweigh the costs. He was meant to give them reasons to back off, not to make himself much more enticing. It's like bragging about your last gen phone and how rich you are to the person with a knife mugging you

2023-06-21 23:04:27 +0000 UTCThat would be a great point, but did you forget the part where he healed his destroyed limbs? Cutting his tongue does nothing. Michael also never 'lost' to the laser. Hikari SAW him waiting for her to finish her chant. He LET her do all of that. Sure, it looked like he almost died. But then he came out not looking the slightest bit hurt while emitting an aura that had spooked Hikari significantly. You also need to remember that Kakusu, Reimei, Arashi, and Miyu weren't there to see Michael get pulverized. All they saw when they came was Hikari sitting in a crater, looking a bit disheveled, while Michael looked like he hadn't been scratched. Albeit, he had slightly different clothes, but that didn't really tell them much. Also, the meteor was not gathered by Cursed Speech. Michael wanted to do it subtly so that it can grow to a bigger, more intimidating size, so he commanded the rubble to gather above the clouds with his commands while fighting Hikari at the same time. He could easily gather it with his Gravity, but that'd be more manual. I'd also like to point out that 'cutting Michael's tongue' is not as easy of a task as you seem to be suggesting. It'd probably be easier to cut his head off than cut his tongue, and we both know that they definitely wouldn't do that even if they could. Edit: Oh, him putting his hand there was because he was checking how much of his body was destroyed so that he could use a reasonable amount. In a high-stress situation, he could just throw a shit ton to heal everything.

"placing my right hand against the side of my charred chest" with that, at least it is implied he needs to touch for the big regen, doubt a level 5 senses would miss that

2023-06-21 22:49:46 +0000 UTCProblem with the meteor argument is, he told them how he used his cursed speech to do it, and he also told them how that works. We know his strength, but from their POV, he would have lost seeing how he got pulverized by the laser, and only "won" by the meteor. Just cut his tongue and maybe even limbs an voila, you might not get an overpowered adventurer, but you did gain a way to have as many of them born as woman you can find with those hereditary abilities, kind of a no brainer that is a good choice when said adventurer is unwilling and "can be beaten" by your sole lvl 5, nevermind with others.

Michael feels like nothing Amaterasu could do will be enough to bring him down, the constant threat of him summoning multiple meteors out of the ground basically has the Royal Court caught by the balls. I added that little tidbit with Hikari at the end where Michael is like "Yeah we can be friends, but you act up and I will murder all of you." to show that he was not taking any shit. Thanks for sharing your thoughts though!

2023-06-21 22:33:47 +0000 UTCI honestly can't say I enjoyed this chapter, after Michael saying how he is ready to kill them if they try and hurt his familia or take him away, he just put up with Amaterasu despite knowing she was treating him as her asset, Yomu spies or not doesn't change how she has been acting like he belongs to her, then holding back in the battle to the point he lost (part of) half his body? And telling how all his abilities are hereditary despite knowing no goddess would let him be? Seems like he went from "will protect myself and my familia no matter what" to "let's get chummy with these people attacking and trying to kill me while giving them more reasons to abduct me yay!"
