2023-05-09 16:29:31 +0000 UTCAnd to add to the smug comment above, aside from Ravel and Azazel it didn't feel like that to me, but even if they were smug or patronizing it would make sense for them anyways: -Ravel: Is a phenex, devil nobility -Azazel: 12 winged angel, old af, and pretty much like canon Azazel -Holly: Problems socializing by Sirius not teaching her that? Less smug and more just being kinda dense -Hermione: Canon wise she did have those "I'm better/smarter than you", which to be fair she kinda was -Vali: I mean this is pretty accurate with the early Vali who only cares about strength and fighting. Rather than smug she doesn't give a fuck -Kuno: Nine tailed fox princess, and Kitsunes are tricksters (most of the time in an assholish way) by nature, and she is clearly finding amusing MC situation and him "being new to the supernatural", probably because she knows/can feel something and she won't tell because of the lols And if you consider the church trio where acting smug or patronizing with Lee on the train ride by straight up ignoring him for Holly, keep in mind Xenovia's and Irina's personality in the early canon, and with how they are raised by the church, Holly might as well be a living, canonized saint

Also, loved how you made the sorting ceremony, certainly a unique way to do it, and fair for the students as it still allows them to choose so long as they meet the criteria

Ravel will probably need a lot of screen time to show her true colors, but as of right now she's kinda 'distracted' doing her shenanigans with Richard and co. My beta is actually a very big Ravel and Le Fay fan because he likes, in his words, 'Busty Blonde and Brainy girls', so I'm planning to have a lot of screen time with those two in the future. Though one thing, Le Fay's character is actually really close to Michael's from my Danmachi fic. Did you know that one of her favorite ways of beating people is to beat them at their own specialty? Against Meredith, who was known to be one of the best Security Magic Magicians in the world, Le Fay decided to go study Security Magic for a month, come back, and BEAT Meredith using it despite Meredith having many years over her in experience. My Beta actually told me that and I was like 'DAMN'. I'm glad you enjoy Dumbledore's character a lot. I really hate Dumbledore bashing since I think he's actually a good guy who was put in a tough spot and had to deal with a lot of nonsense. He doesn't deserve the hate he's always receiving.

2023-04-29 01:20:16 +0000 UTCNo. It's like - You established in Danmachi that Hestia acts differently towards Bell than in canon. But you did that through events over a couple chapters. So when we know the canon personalities of characters and we see these changes happen due to - Event 1 leads to Event 2 leads to Freya not being a Yandere for Bell. It just makes sense and I'm not like "How are the personalities so different?". With Le Fay and Hermione, they're kinda socially awkward in canon but are ridiculously good with magic so their personalities here makes sense. Harry is pretty sassy in canon despite being raised by Dursleys. Here Holly was raised by Sirius for one year, if I read that right, so her being kinda more confident and more sassy and a bit more reckless also makes sense. But Ravel in canon is mix of cute and confident and a little bit tsun but also really intelligent and good with business and strategy. Here, comes across as bit sneaky and sly without the cute parts to balance it out. Or maybe she needs more screen time to make her good parts come out. Dumbledore in canon was actually one of my favorite characters before too much fanfiction ruined him a bit for me especially with many bashing stories. I was a bit worried that Devils, Fallen and other species would control HP Wizards but with the increase in power, I got to see one of the better versions of Dumbledore. This Dumbledore reminded me of the canon one who was willing to let Draco live despite bringing death eaters into Hogwarts and let Snape kill him. Someone, who will gladly pick a fight with even the most dangerous Wizards (Voldemort) or Devils to protect the students of Hogwarts. So, Overall I think some characters need more screentime to get fleshed out andevelop.

Do you also feel that way regarding characters like Le Fay and Hermione? Ah, yeah I get it now. There's actually a big reason for that and it's because Michael in my Danmachi fic is in a lot more control than Richard is at the moment. The best way I can describe Richard right now is a toddler with the mental capabilities of a teenager with 0 memories and 0 experience warily looking at everything around him, while Michael is a lot more... Savvy. Its definitely a combination of Richard's perception and his paranoia that's showing you these things, as he keeps noticing people looking at him weirdly or knowingly but he simply doesn't have the experience to understand /what/ exactly they mean. I believe you should be finding Kunou to be the most 'smug' character as you've said, no?

So..in your Danmachi story, whenever characters interact with each other - whether it's Ais saying dumb stuff, Hestia being annoying or a worrywart, or Freya being seductive or a crazy yandere - the conversations are kinda smooth and flow well. I never looked at a dialogue and thought - "Yeah no this wouldn't happen". I always thought - "Y'know based on what we've seen so far due to changes in Canon, it kinda makes sense." But with the HP and DxD characters it's like, everyone is going out of their way to be kinda sneaky and like "I know something you don't and I'm gonna shoot you sneaky smile and make weird subtle eye smiles to let you know that". I'm glad there won't be a Edias 2.0. Thanks for that. Damn, I'll have to reread the chapters to see how he meets the per-requisites for Superior spheres. Thanks for the chapter. Have a great day.

Oh hell no. Hogwarts being 'alive' plays a role in something else, but it's not going to be an Edias 2.0 at all. I didn't even realize that people might actually think that because of my reputation ;-; Thank you so much man! Let me give you a fun fact, Richard was supposed to just be a quadruple sphere with no superior. Once I implemented and fleshed out the sorting system, I realized that he actually met the prerequisites of all the Superior Spheres accidentally and laughed my ass off. He's the only character on that list I didn't even intend to have superior spheres for. So yeah, fun fact lmao. Oh, yeah there's definitely a path we're walking on right now. You don't gotta worry about managing too many characters or whatever. The first year students should only be interacting with themself and a few upper years, so its not like you're going to be getting a scene with 30+ characters present anytime soon lmao Thank you very much again man, hope you're having a wonderful day.

It's like there are too many characters in a small space in a small place like Hogwarts. 2) And everyone seems kinda smug. It might just be because we're seeing things from the MCs perspective but everyone from the DxD characters to HP Characters make me wanna punch them with the sole exception being Dumbledore. Good job on accomplishing that, since I really don't like Dumbledore in most FFs I read. 3) Please for gods sake tell me that Hogwarts isn't going to suddenly become another Edias like waifu. In the Danmachi story,I could understand the whole Edias thing, since the dungeon is sentient and wants to kill you. Hogwarts isn't really sentient and I hope you didn't make it just so you can make another Castle waifu or something. 4) Fourth isn't a complaint as much as a compliment - The way sorting works was amazing. It's not some BS like everyone suddenly decides MC needs to be on their side like what's happening with the Far East Gods. Here, the spheres seem to imply immense future potential and so everyone wants that. The MC isn't the only one who's experiencing this. There are other characters too which doesn't make it seem like things are happening via Author fiat. Good job on that. 5) I hope that you establish a direction for the story because right now there are too many characters in a small place like Hogwarts. Pendragons, devils, fallen etc. In DxD, these guys are introduced across volumes. So, I hope you can manage these many characters and not end up cluttering chapters with too much different shit happening at once. Overall, I enjoyed the chapter very much.

Also, you may have noticed that the Edias pictures from before have been removed, that's because Patreon has changed its policies and I had to switch to a non-R18 option which meant I couldn't send explicit images anymore. Anything of that sort will be on QQ from now on. From the next chapter forwards, you guys should be getting some chapters earlier than the non-patreons. I just wanted to give it some meat before leaving more chapters to Patreon-Onlys.
