Chapter Posting Poll

This poll is going to be a little different than usual, and doesn’t count toward the patron poll of the month in any case. As some of you may know, my day job is as an EMT. Before the pandemic, it was crazy and hectic. Twelve-hour days aren’t abnormal for most EMTs even during good times.

Now it’s… well, it’s indescribable.

I’m doing my part and I am not bemoaning my position or anything like that. No doubt, more than a few of you have noticed the erratic posting times of chapters as opposed to earlier months. This is largely due to my job and general fatigue.

Writing is, and always will be, my passion. In times like this it helps a lot to have something to focus on and for you guys to support me is beyond humbling. It would not be an understatement to say that being able to write stories for you guys, and hearing from you is the highlight of my day.

It’s good to focus on something positive when I see so much bad stuff every day. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for taking the time to read my work and for supporting me. It means so much more than you could ever know.

The reason for this poll, however, is about updates and how you as patrons would like to read Beastborne.

While this post is long enough on its own, I want to give a little behind-the-scenes on how Patreon works. You can schedule posts, but you cannot open them up to various tiers. Which means once I post something, I need to come back to Patreon every single day and for every tier do an update.

It takes time to do, not much, but over the course of a week doing it 25 times adds up. And that’s not mentioning my odd working hours. It can be difficult to fit in a daily update with my erratic and often last-minute schedule with work.

So my solution was to post all chapters once a week. However, I don’t want to impair your reading experience. If some of you prefer to come back daily and get the drip-feed of Beastborne, doing this would be antithesis.

If, however, most of you would prefer to read as much as possible on a regular basis, then posting all 5 chapters on Monday would be best. I’ll be able to get them up early and consistently because I’ll be able to schedule the posts and do it once a week instead of five times.

But, as I said the choice is up to you guys. If you have any other option you think might work, leave it in the comments, please. I’m open to suggestions.

Every author wants to hear that, thanks for making my day!

I appreciate that, thank you.

I care about the story, not when I get to read it. If you feel like it will be better for you to do something then do it.

Do what is best for you, we'll keep reading regardless!
