What do you think I should do?
Added 2021-03-30 19:19:53 +0000 UTCIt should come as no surprise to anyone, really, that interest in both of my stories has fallen massively. I think my writing is pretty good but I post rarely and infrequently.
My earnings on this website too have plummeted. I can't say for certain that's due to my lack of constant updates but it probably is. I understand it.
I get barely any new traffic on RoyalRoad for either story and they are both ranked fairly poorly (LTW[R] at #300, SIS at #550). I also get that. I can't be one of those authors that posts once a month but still earns four, five, or six times what I currently earn. I'm just not skilled enough.
Honestly, if it weren't for the benefits I receive from my government for having such a low income (which is coming to an end soon) then I would have had to quit writing months ago and gone into a normal job.
I know this is all pretty much my fault. I just want to ask for opinions on what I should do to try to fix it. I like writing and I want it to be my career for many years to come. That just looks impossible right now since each passing month I earn less and less from it.
I am working on publishing the first book of Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite] as an ebook but, honestly, I have little to no confidence in myself that it'll do well.
Anyway, I'm not quitting or anything just sharing my concerns and the things that worry me damn-near every day. Below are a few options I have thought of to maybe combat the situation.
I apologise if you just don't care but this is quite important to me and it stresses me the fuck out.
