Happy New Year Everyone! [+some announcements]

Happy 2024! Thank you for all the support you have shown me throughout the year, whether you’ve been here for a while, or just joined recently, I appreciate you being here and supporting my work :)

I’ve got some announcements to make for this upcoming year. I’ll start with the fun stuff first.

1) Here’s a small new year’s gift from me of to all of you. A prologue chapter of Rise of the Devourer in webcomic form, attached below as a pdf file! The prologue is based on an older chapter 1 that I ended up cutting out from the story, but after some feedback, decided to add portions of it into the webcomic. I’ll be sending this to webtoon soon, and if they accept it, we’ll be seeing an adaptation for Devourer sometime by the end of this year, or the start of next year!

2) I’ll be slowing down chapter uploads for Devourer to 2 chapters a week for January. I will post bonus chapters if I end up writing more than that, but I have a deadline to finish book 3 of Qi by the end of January, so most of my time will be spent there. I know most of you are here for Devourer, and as such, this is unpleasant news, but I hope you understand my situation as well.  Posting should go back up to anywhere from 3 to 5 chapters a week in February.

3) For the few Qi readers here, instead of spamming chapters for Qi on the patreon where most of you want to read devourer, I’ll be completing the book and giving all of you a pdf/epub file to download and read from at once. I’ll also be sharing 10-15 chapters together in single combined posts every week or so.

4) The last one is more of an update on my personal life, since it does affect all of you to an extent as well. I’ve been considering going back to college sometime around June this year. I had taken a break from college in 2023 due to a bunch of circumstances, but also primarily due to mental health and a desire to focus on writing, and I’m thinking of going back to finish my course there. This doesn’t really change much for any of you right now, I’ll still be writing devourer, and posting it. But if things go according to plan, I’ll be taking a month long break in June to find and set up a new apartment, so consider this an early announcement of sorts. If my plans change, and it significantly affects my upload schedule, I’ll make a follow up announcement.
