Patreon Messages

I sent out messages last weekend to those who fulfilled the requirements to be considered a loyal patron (12 consecutive months in $1 USD tier, 10 months in $2 tier, 8 months in $3 tier, 6 months in $4 tier, 4 months in $5 or up tier. More rules can be found here: Game Credit Rules).

The scraper site now has the ability to scrape Patreon messages. It only scrapes the messages that involve the person using the scraper bot, so if you aren't a creator and you also aren't using the scraper bot, then you have nothing to worry about. I am a creator account, so any messages I send to someone who uses a scraper bot can potentially be scraped. I don't know the specifics about whether the scraping of messages is automatic or if the person using the scraper bot can exclude messages.

Anyways, I plan to send out a message to each individual patron. The message will be specific/unique to each patron. It will includes the patron's username and email address. It won't require you to do anything, it will just be me stating how many more months it can take for you to qualify to be a loyal patron and I will also just include links to specific tags on my Patreon (like game tag, poll tag, etc.) depending on the tier. If you have already received a message about fulfilling the requirements to be a loyal patron, then I'm not going to send you an additional message because that message already contains your Patreon username.

Why am I sending out the message? If my content ever gets scraped again and the scraper bot scrapes the message, then I will know who used the scraper bot and I can ban the patron from my Patreon. Additionally, it means I won't have to accuse or be suspicious of patrons who are innocent and haven't done anything wrong because their names won't appear in scraped message (the guilty patron's name would appear in the scraped message).

I will start sending out these messages later this week. I don't send out messages often on Patreon, so the message will probably be the only message you receive from me until you qualify to be a loyal patron or you are in a tier with a special reward.
