New Year, New Rules

As with most things I've had a lot of observations, commentary, complaints brought up, etc throughout the years of polls, so there're some new guidelines to take note of, though for the most part they shouldn't outright alter things as you've known 'em for these years. It's more trying to push for more variety, more often.

The first set are built on years of Patron-messages and happenings:

• Only 1 character per franchise among submissions can make it to the final poll
• A variation of a character still counts in full as that character, i.e. alternate skins cannot be used after a win
• A franchise that has won twice in a row will be banned from the next poll (aka Soft Ban)
• Discernably spoiler-esque characters from very recent media, or characters from as of yet unreleased media in general will be deleted
  - (on one end, sometimes there's just a significant lack of viable material for me to work
  with and turns it into a giant puzzle. Other times, multiple times, I've been severely spoiled on some things big as I'm playing or plan to watch, etc; give stuff decent time, yo)
• You cannot define what I do with a given character in the submission, it's the one factor where I get to exercise choice  
  - (this happens a couple times each round)

And then the other set is the banlist types. This one's for me; some of them are strong personal distaste, and others are also trying to deal with professional proximity, i.e. people close enough to the topic that I know irl and could buzz 'em on the phone casually and I'm just trying to keep a particular distance in that zone for my own well being, and they've also been spilling over into comm forms at a not-insignificant rate over the recent years
