Issa López, who penned Season 4, will return, with Chris Cantwell (Halt and Catch Fire, Paper Girls) in talks to join the writers' room. The new season will center on two male leads in Jamaica Bay area of New York City: an older Irish-American cop, Henry Logan, a New York detective on the case at the center of the new season played by Nicolas Cage, and a man of color who is not a cop but partners with him on the case. I've heard Tahar Rahim was eyed for the latter role, though it’s unclear if discussions have taken place. The season is also expected to feature several strong female supporting characters.
