[ STIX ]
7 to 9 years old, Hispanic female. MUST SING! Stix is bold, confident, and a little egocentric. She has optimism that’s contagious, and a motor-mouth that doesn’t know when to shut off. She avoids feeling vulnerable and has a hard time letting in emotions like sadness, and loneliness, which she perceives as weak (only in reference to herself). Stix always wants to keep things upbeat, and she makes jokes when she feels uncomfortable. Her joking is fun, but it’s not always honoring the moment, and this can frustrate her friends. While she’s a great friend to her bandmates, she needs to learn to talk less and listen more. Physically, Stix is always moving, and she loves playing games that involve hitting something, i.e.; tetherball, paddleball, etc.

[ KEYS ]
7 to 9 years old, South Asian, Southeast Asian, East Asian, Filipino female. MUST SING! Keys is dorky made cool. Keys sees the world through her own lens; a delightfully odd lens that is unique among her peers. Think of her like a kid Phoebe from Friends. Keys knows there are multiple ways of looking at things, and she’s great at seeing what’s possible when no one else can. She is very empathetic and can sometimes “take on” too much of what someone else is feeling. She is mentally flexible and the downside to this is that sometimes it’s hard for her to commit to a decision. She always sees lots of options. Keys loves approaching things in unusual ways and this manifests in the artwork she creates. A visual artist, she makes everything from chalk “street art” to creative orgami—always with a new take on things that breaks, or attempts to break, from the status quo.
