18- early 30s male chimpanzee, on the cusp of adulthood, Noa is loyal to both his clan and to his family. A rule-follower by nature, his ideals and vision of the world have been shaped by the only home he has ever known Eagle Clan. He is clever and inventive beyond his years, traits that will serve him well along his journey to come. Returning from a rite of passage, Noa brings back an egg from an eagle's nest but before he can perform the ritual that coronates his maturity, his village is overrun by marauding apes under the command of Sylva. In the ensuing attack, Noa's father is killed and his village enslaved. He then sets off, far beyond the boundaries or the world in which he was raised, on a mission to rescue the surviving members of his family. As he makes friends and enemies along his journey, Noa's world view and limiting beliefs will be challenged, leaving an enlightened ape and burgeoning leader by the end of his journey. When Noa and his human companion Mae reach Proximus's camp, Noa must figure out how to free his clan from Proximus's grip. Mae convinces Noa that her plan to overthrow Proximus is mutually beneficial, but, eventually, it comes to light Mae has been lying to Noa about her intentions from the start. The world is different from what Noa was taught and believed it to be. Noa learns the hard way that humans will do anything to preserve their species, and that they are much more than pests.. they are deceivers..LEAD

40s - 60s male orangutan; the last of the true order of Caesar, Raka is a spiritual leader who believes
humans are much more than just wild, feral animals. Raka has spent years leaving out clothes and food for the wild humans, dedicating his life to understanding the world humans left behind and the intentions Caesar had for a worid now led by apes. When a young ape, Noa, arrives on his doorstep with a lingering human in tow, Raka
knows he must stay with Noa to get closer to te human. Raka, Mae, and Noa eventually turn into a 3-ape team, evading marauders and learning about each other's differences. Raka acts as a mentor to Noa and helps him to see a diferent side of the world left behind by humans. Raka tragically dies as he lived- believing humans have a right to a world alongside the apes..LEAD
[PROXIMUS CAESAR]
40s - 60s male ape; a charismatic and shrewd leader who plans to unite all apes under
his authoritative leadership by perverting the word of Caesar. He offers Noa a different perspective on Caesar's legacy, and the role of humans in ape society. Proximus knows that the key to maintaining his one-ape rule is by seizing and mastering the technolo9y left behind by the humans, and he hopes that Mae and Noa will help him crack the treasure trove that is sealed in an underground silo, right beneath his feet...LEAD
