thirst for blood. They've been on the run ever since, committing shameful acts to stay alive, but Mark is never giving up on his daughter. A spike in homicide rates brings them home to Chicago, where Mark discovers his first lead towards a cure in a decade...

Then one night, his life turned upside down when Eleanor was attacked and bitten by a mysterious creature who vanished into the night. Then Mark watched as his daughter turned into something else, a monster who only survives by living off the blood of living people. For ten years, Mark has kept Eleanor alive in the most unimaginable way-by bringing her the food she needs. For ten years they have lived on the lam. And for ten years, Mark has never given up hope of finding the creature that bit Eleanor, and ultimately finding a cure. Quiet, sensitive, small for his age and a kid who loves (and is really good at) magic, Isaiah's an easy target for the other boys at school. He has to deal with bullies, a dad who constantly floats in and out of his life, and a mother who loves him fiercely, but is often angry and sad. He does find a true Eleanor, and a possible father figure in Mark, but has friend in no idea the threat they pose. SERIES REGULAR
