Sam is a fiercely unapologetic woman just trying to get through life, battling her problems with sarcasm and too much Pepto Bismol, as a cure for her soon-to-be diagnosed Crohn's disease. Sam comes from a Suburban background, and constantly finds herself being forced to explain and defend her looks, current living situation, and "Blackness". Usually, comments don't faze her, but Sam is wondering what she's really capable of and may need some help facing life's annoyances...SERIES REGULAR
Storyline: SAM knows exactly how it feels to be annoyed by everything - because that's every day for her. Living on minimum wage to afford a run-down apartment, she barely has time to listen to co-workers question her Blackness or friends doubt her commitment to a career in writing. An untreated stomach problem lands her in the hospital - yet another thing on her plate - but at least that counts as a place to crash for a few nights...
