Logline: Follows a washed-up basketball scout who discovers a Chinese streetball phenom and sees him as his ticket back to the NBA, talking
him into coming to Los Angeles to train for the draft. The phenom is thrown into the hype machine of pro basketball prospects and must deal with being away from his family and village for the first time while the scout tries to put back together the pieces of the
family he left behind.

Steel worker in Chinese Village with a serious talent for Basketball. Has to leave aging grandparents and girlfriend behind to follow his dream of being an NBA player. Blows it when he punches Wilts

BBall Coach but now a local Chinese scout and a bilingual Chinese speaker and recovering alcoholic. Has a dark past but still dreams of being a head coach somewhere. Uses Alex as his ticket back in.

High-flying sports agent and friend of Billy's - but also a business man. Signs Alex against his better judgement and after Billy forces his hand.

Is the first NBA to play with Alex and his idol. Beats him on the field but learns to respect him as well.

Another prospect. Cocky , immature but highly talented player and Alex' nemesis. A fight with Alex causes him to lose ranking in the draft.

Billy's ex-wife. Seeing somebody else but still loves Billy - father of their child IAN. Eventually gives him another chance.
