#877 After Proving the Saint’s Identity

My name’s Yanbacchus.  

I’m the proud president of a sect in the Saint Kidan Alliance - a group devoted to worshipping the venerable Saint Kidan. Our specific circle is called The Association for Making Saint Kidan the World’s King.

There are various sections within our circle. We are part of a division, often called the Social Sect, dedicated to a clear goal: elevating Saint Kidan’s social status among his worshippers.

Some blatantly look down on our activities, saying things like, “How pitiful these folks are, trapped in worldly affairs while worshipping the Saint,” or “The Saint is a higher being; the mere thought that we could elevate him is preposterous.”

However, I staunchly reject such opinions.

If Saint Kidan is to be the world’s king, isn’t it our duty as his followers to spread his fame far and wide, ensuring that he’s recognized as a king both in name and in reality?

The end of the Human-Demon War and the unification of all humanity were all thanks to the Saint’s efforts.

Therefore, it’s our duty as devotees to ensure everyone knows these achievements are his.

Right now, many of the credits due to Saint Kidan are being unfairly claimed by the likes of the Demon King and other public figures.

Isn’t it our job in the alliance to correct this injustice and ensure that everyone across the world offers respect and worship to him?

And eventually, we hope that the Saint himself will step forward, ruling this world as a great king.

I’m convinced that’s the most natural state in this world.

In a world perfectly balanced, stable, and flawless, Saint Kidan would make the best ruler.

We are tirelessly working towards this ideal.

For this, we continue our relentless activities day and night.

First and foremost, for our dream to become reality, an appearance by the Saint himself is essential.

That’s why we’ve been pressing those in power, who seem to have connections with the Saint, for information. 

It’s unfair that only a select few should monopolize such crucial intel.

In pursuit of this, we’ve been staging daily demonstrations until one day, soldiers came and arrested us all. 

After a night in jail, we were released with a warning that we won’t be let off easily the next time.

...Curse those power-hungry authorities. Do they think they can manipulate everything to their liking?

Resisting this absurdity, I was stirred to action, but being closely watched by the authorities makes it challenging to do as we please.

Pondering our next move, an unexpected piece of information came in.

— "Saint Kidan has descended."

What nonsense! Saint Kidan, who’s never shown himself before, suddenly appearing?!

Although hard to believe, the chance to see the Saint with my own eyes is irresistible, especially as one of his worshippers.

True or not, I have to see for myself. If he really has descended, I need to convey our devotion personally and earnestly request him to become the ruler of the world.

With that thought in mind, off I went to the announced location, only to find the so-called ‘Saint’ was nothing like I imagined—a complete farce in appearance!

Who in the world is that?!

He’s covered in a shell like a crab, even concealing his face.

A clear suspect if ever there was one.

Such a shady character is claiming to be the Saint? Utterly ridiculous, no, blasphemous!

It must have been the power-holders who came up with such a scandalous idea and put it into action.  

Fearing that we were getting closer to the truth about Saint Kidan, they probably dreaded the threat to their vested interests.

However, the Saint’s wisdom should be shared among all humanity.

It’s not something that only a privileged few should monopolize!!!

Trying to fob us off with this imposter? Well, they’ve got another thing coming!

It’s not just us from the Social Sect here today! Even the usually reclusive Cultivation Sect is enraged, ready to riot. If it comes to that, the scale will be unprecedented!

We’ll storm the government offices and force them to reveal Saint Kidan’s whereabouts!

But our fiery spirit was instantly extinguished.

Saint Kidan once dispatched a dragon right in the midst of the Human-Demon War!

If he can do the same, we might just believe him-

A dragon suddenly appeared in the sky above the arena!

And not just one – several of them!

They’re blanketing the skyyyyyyyy!!!

...Only one dragon appeared during the war.

Now, there are more than ten flapping their wings overhead.

“We’re here, Master! Shall we annihilate those who defy your will?”

“Nobody asked for something so drastic. I just wanted to scare them a bit, not bring an entire entourage like this.”

“But they all wanted to join. It’s like reenacting Momotaro’s story!”

“You actually gave them kibidango?!”

“Their rewards were blood and tragedy!”

If that odd fellow summoned all of these, does that mean he possesses a power greater than Saint Kidan himself...?!

...No, wait.

What if that hero is Saint Kidan? Would that explain everything?

“Could it really be...?!”

“This person is Saint Kidan...?!”

Everyone in the alliance, except me, began to accept this reality.

His bizarre appearance made it hard to believe at first... But could this individual, capable of such miracles, truly be the real Saint Kidan...?!

The true ruler of this world...!

“Well, now... Is everybody convinced? It’s time for the promise with Masked Saint!”

“Recently, I've heard that some friends have been crowding around the Demon King and the New Human Government because of me, causing quite a nuisance! However, you shouldn’t bother people who aren’t involved! Stick to the rules and play it cool!”

There are people causing such shallow trouble, disturbing the Saint’s peace of mind?!

Who would be so brazen?!

“And remember to watch TV with the lights on and from afar! Farewell! Dwah!!!”

Just when I thought the Saint was going to jump, he soared high into the sky!

...He can fly, too?! Truly, that person is the real Saint Kidan!

What a revelation...! In our confusion, the Saint has already made his exit!

We wanted to ask so many things, yet we ended up only hurling insults and skepticism!

Please return, Saint Kidan! Grant us your words once more!

No, to beckon him again, we must deepen our devotion and faith.

The Saint descended upon hearing our pleas.

By increasing our activities, we might be graced with another audience.

It seems it’s a no-go to crowd the powerful, so let’s be careful about that.
