if i recall correctly, Dave quit Chappelle's Show halfway through filming season 3 for reasons to do with contractual obligations and maybe the type of comedy he felt was not what he set out to do- but since the show was so lucrative Comedy Central aired what was filmed anyways with Donnell Rawlings and Charlie Murphy as hosts. And for months everyone was saying Dave lost his mind and moved to Africa lol
