#761 The Bridegrooms Who Will Dominate the World
Added 2023-08-22 12:00:09 +0000 UTCAs we engage in pleasant chatter, time steadily marches on.
Before we know it, the moment for the ceremony has arrived.
I step forward to perform my duties as the MC.
“The bride and groom, accompanied by a few others, will now make their entrance. Please give them a warm welcome.”
Who would’ve guessed I’d end up as the MC?
As planned, Platy starts singing the wedding march a cappella, using solmization magic. Her voice ushers in the brides and grooms, guiding them to their places.
First to enter are Batemy and her partner.
Batemy, the tailor, dons a breathtaking wedding gown she crafted herself, radiating an unmatched brilliance.
The man by her side epitomizes suave masculinity.
So, that’s Batemy’s groom?
It’s my first glimpse of him; he radiates strength, warmth, and affability.
From a fatherly standpoint, I trust he will cherish Batemy.
Following them is another couple from the joint ceremony.
Enter Orkubo and Zoth Syra.
Zoth Syra, in her bridal ensemble, is a revelation. Her usual mysterious aura is absent, replaced by the innocence of a violet in full bloom.
It’s remarkable how an outfit can so dramatically alter one’s perception.
Orkubo, her groom, is dressed in a pristine white tuxedo tailor-made by Batemy. He makes his entrance riding his treasured steed, Gigantirock.
Gigantirock, a colossal homunculus horse, was crafted using Zoth Syra’s potions.
A testament to the couple’s combined skills, the horse’s presence at the ceremony feels just right.
However, as Orkubo enters, the atmosphere grows tense.
“An orc? Why is there an orc here?”
“Isn’t an orc just a monstrous humanoid? Why is a creature fit only for exploitation by the demon race being celebrated as someone’s groom?”
“Is this some sort of performance?”
“If so, it’s distasteful. Making an orc partake in mankind’s customs?”
The crowd’s reactions are largely dismissive.
To many, orcs are merely monsters, undeserving of human treatment.
This bias seems particularly entrenched among the nobility.
I hadn’t previously grasped the depth of this prejudice, but it’s surprisingly prevalent.
“What do we do? Should we confront them?”
“Divine punishmenttt?”
Platy and Junior suggest drastic action, but patience is needed.
Should we really intrude just yet?
After all, this is Orkubo’s moment.
Do they believe Orkubo, a respected leader on our farm, can’t handle such a minor disturbance?
See for yourselves. He’s already addressing the situation without uttering a word or making a move.
“What’s happening to me?”
“I can’t move my body... I’m shaking uncontrollably!”
The haughty nobles present are bewildered by an unseen force gripping them.
It’s the overpowering aura emanating from Orkubo.
A primal response to the potential threat of a predator, the inherent need to obey a dominant leader, and a reverence for nature itself – all these feelings converge, pressing heavily upon them.
Such is the strength of Orkubo’s presence.
From an orc to a Warrior Orc, ascending to a Legatus Orc...
Orkubo, now known as the Julius Caesar Orc, stands as a symbol of unparalleled authority!
Could mere lesser nobles stand against such an imposing figure?
When Orkubo speaks, his voice resonates more deeply than any physical force.
“Make way.”
At his command, a wave of reverence sweeps through the hall.
Nobles, both demonic and merfolk, bow in unison.
Overwhelmed by Orkubo’s aura, they have no choice but to submit.
The average person can’t resist this commanding presence.
Over 90% of the attendees felt an undeniable urge to bow down.
Exceptions were few and included dignitaries like the Demon King and Arowana. Having faced countless challenges, they remain undeterred by Orkubo’s rather mild display of power.
Their resilience is indeed commendable, befitting leaders of vast territories!
“Compose yourself, Dear! Why are you bowing as well?!”
“What?! When did I-”
I hastily straighten up, but others remain grounded under Orkubo’s influence.
“Hohoho... This is the consequence of showing disrespect to my Orkubo. Ponder upon your inconsequence!”
The bride, Zoth Syra, is thrilled.
Lifted by Orkubo atop the mighty Gigantirock, she looks less like a princess being whisked away by a prince and more like a prime minister about to wed an emperor.
With Orkubo’s aura in full force, any disdain or prejudice against him evaporates.
Now, for the icing on top.
Another newlywed pair, Gobukichi and Teacher Carp make their dramatic entrance.
Their arrival is nothing short of spectacular as they descend from above in a daring drop.
Gobukichi also rides his cherished steed, Mimic Octobus. This homunculus horse, blessed with the elasticity of a mollusk, lands safely, no matter the height of its descent.
“A goblin next...?!”
“What’s happening? I can’t... I can’t get up!”
The attendees are in disarray, still reeling from Orkubo’s overpowering aura.
“In every direction he turns, he commands awe. Truly, Orkubo’s aura is unparalleled in this realm. I am but a mere shadow in comparison,” says Gobukichi, dressed in a tuxedo for his big day. “As a monster, I, too, might be slandered by ignorant people. I cannot tolerate that for Lady Carp, who chose me. However, I can’t make them obey me with intimidation like Orkubo can.”
“Don’t worry, Lord Gobukichi. As long as I’m with you...!”
“No, I want to be a husband you can be proud of. So...!”
Gobukichi represents the zenith of goblin evolution, a Takehaya Susano-o Goblin.
His ability ranks among the world’s top.
“I will perform a trick.”
In an instant, Gobukichi vanished.
Swoosh.
Then, moments later, he reappeared.
The onlookers were stunned...
“He disappeared and then reappeared...?! What just happened...?!”
“Super speed? That’s an uncommon ability for a goblin!”
“Wait! What is that goblin holding?! He wasn’t carrying those before he vanished!”
As observed, in Gobukichi’s hands, after his brief disappearance were objects he hadn’t held before.
Is that fruit? Fish? And even some kind of model I can’t discern...!
“That fruit! Isn’t that a Humango, exclusive to the Human Kingdom?!”
“Isn’t that Mermaidonco, a fish found only in the deep seas near the Mermaid Kingdom?! It’s exquisite when simmered!”
“Ah! Isn’t that a God Figure, a recent product from Demon Capital, with articulated joints?!”
“They’re all nation-exclusive items!”
Gobukichi had them all.
Items he wasn’t holding before his brief vanishing act.
The implication is...!
“Is it possible that Gobukichi... traveled the entire world and gathered these in the few seconds he was gone...?!”
Gobukichi’s defining feature as the Takehaya Susano-o Goblin is his speed.
He’s not just fast; by blending his time-stopping and precognitive skills, he moves at a pace that seems to defy reality. With the added agility of the Mimic Octobus, it’s said he can circumnavigate the globe about fifteen times in a second.
Given such speed, it’s plausible that he could traverse the world in mere seconds.
“I apologize if my trivial showcase was unimpressive.”
“Not unimpressive, it was almost imperceptible...!”
However, no one dared to belittle Gobukichi after witnessing that speed.
Both Gobukichi and Orkubo are our treasured allies; don’t underestimate them!
“What are they...?!”
“If either that orc or goblin were to act, neither the Demon Kingdom nor the Mermaid Kingdom could resist...!”
“We must curry their favor somehow...!”
I’m pleased to see that everyone recognizes the prowess of Orkubo and Gobukichi.
Now, with the tensions among the attendees diminished, the final pair arrived.
Ardheg and Bloody Mary descended from the heavens in their dragon forms.
Predictably, their arrival had the most dramatic effect, with guests scattering in every direction.
Had they not been held in place by Orkubo’s commanding presence, it could have been catastrophic.
