Between the years of 1998 and 2002, Champion Comics dominated the comic books scene in a beautiful blaze of glory. Until business woes and poor financial decisions caused it to close its doors. The comic book world quickly forgot about Champion Comics. In the decades to come, even the most ardent collector was hard pressed to find copies of their issues.
The ensuing Collapse of our universe further relegated Champion Comics to a tiny footnote of history. What remains unknown is how and why the events of Champion Comics so accurately mirrored the real events transpiring in twenty years in the future of a parallel universe. The issues of their comics follow several superheroes through their life journeys, and accurately depict key details of their experiences. Thus, long time fans of the comic series knew a great deal about the world when they arrived as refugees in the Champion Universe.
Since the Collapse, there are believed to be less than a thousand people in the Champion Universe with intimate knowledge of the setting. Fewer still who actually have copies of the comic books. But the story of the books continues on, long after publication ceased.
