Hi friends. It's wonderful to speak with you again.
I decided to write a more story-based audio this time, since my last audio was slice-of-life. I found this script very fun and easy to write because this character's personality is fairly similar to mine. In fact, part of the sequel is based on my experience of meeting my boyfriend in person for the first time. I won't explicitly state which part because I don't want to spoil the story for you, but I can give you a hint: fingers.
And no, it's not what you're thinking.
Also, I figured that I'd try to write shorter audios so that I can upload more frequently, but despite this script being about 1,000 words less than my last script, it still took me about 3 weeks to finish. (And it's only 4 minutes shorter!?) I mean, I did finish a week earlier, but three weeks to edit an audio still doesn't cut it. I'm not sure what else I can realistically do, but I'll keep trying.

2024-11-14 23:22:27 +0000 UTCThis is going to be a novel, but... This reminds me of my first relationship. It was, oh, 25-ish years ago now. Yeah. I'm old. This was 1999 and we originally met online if you could believe it, but we became official after we met in person. It was winter time in Illinois. Our first real date happened at a lake. It was cold. Breezy. We shared our first kiss whilst huddled together in a long-dried river bed. After that, we went back to her family's house. In her room she sat at the head of the bed, legs crossed, and I lay on the bed with my head in her lap. The window next to the bed was open. We were on the second floor. The lake was near enough that a headwind pounded the side of the house and a strong, crisp breeze flowed in over us. I remember laying there as we chatted, and she ran her fingers gently through my hair -- yes, I had hair once upon a time, friends and neighbors -- and eventually I began to doze. My slow sleepy breathing, her fingers in my hair, the sound of the breeze coming in off the lake... that's one of the strongest memories of my youth. A lot of things have dulled in my mind over the years, but this never has. We were together for around 3 years. There was a lot of good and bad in that relationship. But this story really makes me nostalgic for those days; my head in her lap, her fingers in my hair, and that strong lake breeze flowing over and around us whilst I dozed. I've told this story so many times over the years... maybe even in the comments here before, ha. Embarrassing if so, but nevermind. Nostalgia knows no humiliation. Anyway. What I'm trying to say is: well done, Moon. Thank you.

Writing, recording, and editing are such significant parts of the creative process, and as time-consuming as they can be, I love having creative control over each part. This is also why I haven't, for example, hired an editor. I'm glad that you don't mind the slower releases, but I'll continue to try to upload more frequently while maintaining creative control over the entire process. And I've been trying to guess what the 'M' word is. I'm glad to have dodged it at least!

The fact that I'm guaranteed a new story every time you come out with something is part of why you're my favorite. Edit: oh my gosh, this man is a genius. Double edit: nice dodge of the M word.
