Art Essay + Phantom the Cat

I've attached an essay about artists working in established contexts (such as making sequels). Hope you like it. :-)

Things got a little rough for the past two days. Phantom, my cat that had to get some serious treatment back in early May, got heat sickness. It was dumb bad luck: He was lying on a dark fluffy surface in front of a window on a very hot day. The room was about 78 F, so it was warm but not overwhelmingly warm. But he has black fur and was on a surface that also was absorbing heat and was an insulator so it wasn't pass it along. And he fell asleep.

When I figured out what had happened, I did my best to bring his temperature down without shocking him. I succeeded with that, but heat sickness is worrying in cats. And he wouldn't drink, which obviously is a problem. So we've been spending several days trying to stay on top of his health situation, not let anything more happen when he's already compromised. We've finally gotten him to start drinking and today he's eating again. I think he'll be back to his old self in another day or two.

So, I'm still getting messages to the senators and emperors. And my Babylon 5 for next weeks is coming along.

As for the essay, it was kind of coalescing some ideas I had about creatives and the idea of "this is the story I want to tell" and it's like "yeah, but your story doesn't exist in a vacuum, or you wouldn't be telling it at all." If you like this kind of thing, let me know and I'll make this a regular thing.

Thanks for all your support, here's to a great August!

Sorry I'm late, but hope Phantom has recovered from the heatstroke.
