To be fair India, there was an alien, the final boss. He just possessed a human body. There's a cool TV show Stargate SG 1, and another, Stargate Atlantis which continue on from this movie. More aliens in those shows.

Let's face it, there is no way men and ropes and ramps could transport stone blocks weighing tens of and even a hundred tonnes. We would struggle to do it now with the latest machinery.
