Does it actually have relevance though? If many of the aristocracy in the show are black, then there's obviously no elitist anti-black racism as they ARE the elite.

Her skin color actually has a lot of relevance to the story and plot . Which is why I said it has nothing to do with the charlotte we know in history and to watch it first before making based comments.

It is still loosely based on a historical figure, For example if in the movie Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter (which is not meant to be historically accurate lol) they made Lincoln black it would make no sense. Unless the whole exploratory premise of the movie is 'what if the characters were black? What would be the difference?' however from what I've read Charlotte et al's skin color has no real relevance to the plot which begs the question 'why race swap?'

Maybe actually watch the show before quoting wiki? This show is apart of a larger universe and really has nothing to do with the Queen Charlotte of our history. Im not a fan of race swaps in media if they're actually meant to be historically accurate.

Wiki: "The story is loosely based on the rise of Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz to prominence and power in the late 18th century."
So while it's fiction, it is based albeit loosely on an actual historical figure, who was white.
Lets be real, it's obviously a politicallly motivated race swap, serving no purpose other than the racist undermining of a white figure by the woke establishment.
I'm not saying it's not a good show as I haven't seen it, but if they made a Shaka Zulu show and cast Alexander Skaarsgard as Shaka, there would be outrage lol.

It's not a historical documentary it's a fiction show based in a romance novel universe. It's not meant to be accurate. 🙄🙄

Lol, so historically racially accurate. Netflix loves raceswapping historical characters. I swear the next show will be a Viking show with a black female chief.....oh wait, they've already done that lol.
