2022-05-06 01:42:11 +0000 UTCRecording Dexter and the boat with bags wouldn't have proven much as it was so dark, impossible to see what's in the bags, plus he risks Dex jumping in the boat and getting away. By getting Dex at gunpoint he has all the evidence on site including Dex to hand over to the Feds. I'm Ok with Doakes going down mainly because he was such a douche to Dex without any reason early on. It came across as a jock bullying a nerd because the nerd was smarter. Doakes has killed people before, though they were probably 'bad guys' like that Haitian death squad member he shot under the bridge, so he's similar to Dexter in that respect so he doesn't precisely fit the 'code' and doesn't justify being a victim for Dex. Doakes was pretty funny at times though, "SURPRISE MUTHAFUCKA!"
