Character creation - Cricket

Here we go with how Cricket was created!

ORIGIN

-Before the circus plot Cricket didn’t really have an identity. I always had Noah drawn out from the start but the actual main character of the next big story needed more plot to be more fleshed out for me.

-So all I got before the circus character work was that he had glasses and he was tall… And he may have had the neck tattoo instead of Noah? I dunno, SOMEone was gonna get their neck inked lol Either way he now has no glasses, isn't tall and has no tattoos, good work, Red 😂

-For the circus I wanted to stick with the theme of him being a contrast to the love interest cuz I love ‘opposites attract’ that much I guess. So he gets to be a cautious and quiet ball of nerves who gets strength from more confident folk like Noah.

APPEARANCE

-I wanted his appearance to be opposite of Noah’s: Straighter hair and wide deer-in-headlights eyes. Also maybe constantly look like he was gonna throw up.

-His greyish hair color was decided, then regretted, then stuck with lol The reason being I’ve already done main characters with black/blonde/brown/red hair and wanted to be different.. So even though it’s not a “natural” color (I’m kind of past giving characters unnatural anime hair colors, unless they dye it) it fit him too well to change.

-The spike “going through his head” and the make-up actually came from the prototype to this circus story I’d written a looong time ago where the performers were demons and some looked like this! One day I’ll tell you guys more about that story :D
