MATILDA (1996) - FULL LENGTH

MATILDA (1996) - FULL LENGTH

I use "much too good for children" every time my dogs see me eating chocolate (poisonous to dogs if you didn't know)

Caine

Behind the scenes the little blonde girl who got thrown over the fence was reading as much as Matilda's character, every shot she's buried in a book.

Oh wow this came out one year before I was born, I remember watching reruns as this as a child though.

This movie was my childhood, my brother and i wore the hell out of the VHS Trunchbull is one of my fave movie villains, "they're all mistakes, children. Glad I never was one" is such a great line.

Carlos Hurtado

This was one of my favorite childhood movies. My mom had to buy the VHS tape a few times because I ruined them rewinding them. A cute little behind the scenes about this movie that I'll add to the comments, when they had Matilda dance, Mara was so shy about dancing in front of everyone, so Danny had everyone in the crew around dance as well, so she would feel more comfortable.

Tina

oh no so sad.

Thissss. I love Pam so much they did so incredible with the make-up design in this and she really gets into the role. Literally another person 😍😍 like all three villians are brilliant 👏 ❤️❤️❤️ and Danny Devito as Director, Narrator, and Actor. I was blown away when I found out!! 🤯🤯🤯

Also, dunno if you notice because I'm only halfway through viewing, but Pam Ferris who plays Trunchbull was also Aunt Marge Dursley in Harry Potter.

Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman (who were also married in real life) took care of Mara Wilson (Matilda) while her mother was dying of breast cancer. Danny was able to show her an early cut of the movie before she died so she could watch her daughter's performance.

Awe, this brings back nostalgic memories.

Love this movie! A childhood classic with a great message -- the importance of chosen families.
