Yeah, this is a jacked up film. You're right, imho, that the intelligence of the script is what made it that more interesting to people. I personally feel it's a movie that was SO ahead of it's time. I enjoyed the psychological aspects. The manipulations and gaslighting was fascinating to watch. I've watched this movie so many times. Jim Carey knocked it out of the park AND made me see him differently as an actor. I cried my eyes out the first time I saw it and yeah, was DEF angry for majority of film. The end is what sewed it all up, making it an absolute gem. It made you feel all seven of the emotions. Sometimes together.

2022-01-25 22:43:02 +0000 UTCHonestly I really appreciate your rating. I totally get how this movie was upsetting, because it is a freaky premise. Ratings that are more based on how a movie made you feel are really valuable and underrated. Honestly I would love it if people rated more movies this way sometimes so that I knew when to avoid certain movies that were going to make me feel terrible. My dad loves this movie called There Will be Blood and it's a really well done movie. And I hate it. Everything upset me. The music, the story, The fact that it's like it goes on forever. Yeah okay it's a well done movie and it deserves its high ratings but that doesn't mean I have to watch it again. Likewise I love Amadeus. My dad acknowledges that it's good but he thinks it's depressing and doesn't really like it. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you don't always have to like movies that everyone says are good.
