When you said you felt it in your armpits, I understood that deep in my soul.

2024-03-16 18:04:18 +0000 UTCListen I burst into tears when Kemi made the observation about his mother shouting the same thing at the church steps! It was an observation that I missed.

2024-03-16 12:43:56 +0000 UTCThis reaction brought me to tears several times. Let me tell you. This is my favorite animated Disney film and it has been since I was a little girl. I was still in elementary school when it came out. The songs are absolutely incredible.

2024-03-16 12:15:07 +0000 UTCWonderful reaction! Such a moving movie with such dark and heartbreaking themes. The music is breathtaking…just phenomenal. Out There gives me chills every time

2024-03-11 04:02:03 +0000 UTCI wasn’t sure which version this was til I played it. I remember seeing it in the theaters. I was a crying mess. The voice cast is pretty well known. Quasimodo was by Tom Hulce. Frodo was Tony Jay ( the song he sang at the fireplace was called Hellfire. I consider it one of the best villain songs next to Be Prepared and Poor Unfortunate Souls) Pheobus was Kevin Kline and Esmeralda may be someone you know. Demi Moore. As far as Disney films go i consider it in the top 5. As far as accuracy to the work.. well the book and this version are very different. I try to remember that. Disney mostly has happy endings. If you want another good version, try the one w Sor Anthony Hopkins as Quasimodo. The story itself is amazing and perfect if tragic. Reminds me a great deal of Phantom of the Opera but that’s me. Love your reaction here. Ohh and if you want some good Disney Covers, try Peter Hollens.

2024-03-09 21:08:44 +0000 UTCI was terrified of giant Ursula at the end of The Little Mermaid 🐙😅 couldn't even finish the movie until I was like 7 years old💀🤭

2024-03-09 20:16:02 +0000 UTCThis movie kind of scared me as a kid, but I watched it again in high school and it became one of my favorite Disney movies.

2024-03-09 20:14:15 +0000 UTCBest villain song, hands down!

2024-03-09 19:07:21 +0000 UTCOf all the Disney films, this is my favourite soundtrack. The music is so beautiful, as well as the visuals and message. The dark tone and implications were kind of lost on me as a kid, but I appreciate them so much more as an adult!

2024-03-09 08:54:34 +0000 UTCFrollo is such a scary Disney villain because there are actual people just like him. Tom Hulce who is Quasi's voice, including the singing, played Mozart in Amadeus!
Tina
2024-03-09 07:58:37 +0000 UTCBtw, the cast album of the stage show in my opinion is superior to the film version. The choir is fuller and the orchestra is immaculate. But that's just my opinion. Listen to the "Esmeralda" (Act 1 closer) track from that album -- it's like opening the gates of Heaven.

2024-03-09 07:31:02 +0000 UTCYou gave an incredible reaction to a powerful movie! The music definitely strikes an emotional cord. My favorite part is Quasimodo shouting "Sanctuary!" after saving Esmeralda. Thank you for this Kemi!
Ethan
2024-03-09 07:30:34 +0000 UTCThe lyrics were written by the composer of the songs in The Prince of Egypt (Stephen Schwartz). They definitely cut deep to your core when you watch it. And Alan Menken's choral-based music is most effective in the climax when Quasimodo rescues Esmeralda and my favorite of any Disney film. Their other collaboration is Pocahontas.
