You know how I knew you wanted the book - I heard you say that on the LOTR YouTube Live session, where you also confirmed that you didn't have it already. Yes, I am sneaky like that! :) Back to Philadelphia - I second everything Scott has said above. I love your interpretation of that powerful opera scene and acknowledgment of Miller's transformation from an unabashed homophobe to being unwillingly tolerant to finally starting to become an ally. And thank you for your prayer at the end. And yes, I had come to the same conclusion as you - there's not a role that Tom Hanks can't play! To make up for making you cry so much, my next pick will be a much more light-hearted movie. :)

The opening song is by Bruce Springsteen ("Streets of Philadelphia") and he won an Oscar for Best Original Song. Tom Hanks won an Oscar for Best Actor. The director, Jonathan Demme had previously won an Oscar for Best Director for "Silence of the Lambs," which is such a different movie! KSO, Darling, you are a FIERCE warrior for justice, and I am so happy that you use your platform to spread kindness, compassion and love. You make a difference!! Raga, thank you for sending KSO this powerful movie. I look forward to all of the wonderful movies she will be watching in the future! ๐
