This was the first R rated film my mom let me watch (with her). I think I was 11 when I saw this. I grew up in a very film-loving, conversation-having household where we would watch a movie and spend hours discussing afterwards with me and all my sisters, for the purpose of education and learning about other cultures and difficult topics. This movie is a gem and I’m so glad I get to watch it again with you!
