I'm happy to spend $2. But I am someone who doesn't want daily emails. I also don't want audio-only. Audio distracts me from my thinking, and I historically have never engaged with audio-only anything. I do like the source links, but would prefer they're in a cleaner list format for right-click-copy to save for later.

A $2 tier is a great idea IMO. In fact it was my (unexpressed πŸ˜„) complaint when I first subscribed that the lowest tier felt like too little and the middle one felt like too much. I have since upgraded and I'm not going to downgrade, but I think $2 might be the sweet spot for a lot of people.

I feel like longer analysis/commentary should be saved for the weekly show. Personally, I'd just like to hear what the stories of the day are with some context. If it's gets lengthy, I start hitting the skip button for topics I'm less interested in.

I prefer when it's 10-12 minutes πŸ˜…

The daily news show is the first podcast I listen to every day that it is published! Just to voice my opinion, I like it when it is kept succinct, like in the 5-8 minute range. Also, I'm very interested in the idea of making GNOME OS a general purpose distro, but also, given the way you described it on the show (specifically immutability) I'm wondering how it would differ from Vanilla OS. I think the project is pretty upfront about how they try to offer a vanilla GNOME experience and after using it for a few months, that seems to be the case.

Hey Nick, honestly 2€ per month is fine, don't overthink it. Some people might complain about the price increase but you can't please everyone. I'm personally fine giving you 5€ πŸ˜‰. I like the idea about an immutable distro for KDE and Gnome, but I do wonder how they will do the immutability. Will they do what OpenSuse does with their Aeon desktop or what Fedora does with Rpm-ostree? By the way, you said that you had problems installing DaVinci resolve on an immutable system, I don't know if you tried an Ublue Fedora spin but they have an install helper that uses a Just recipe, maybe it's something that could be helpful? I personally haven't tried it. https://universal-blue.discourse.group/t/davinci-resolve-setup-guide/1197

I like keeping my money just as much as the next guy, but I must admit that the current Daily News $1 tier is insanely good value πŸ˜€ I listen every day and find that the daily news are simply the best thing you produce! (Let me add that I tremendously enjoy your videos as well of course)

$1/month here - I treat the daily news and patroncast like a newsletter. I like getting an overview of the topics and keeping track of what's happening, and then if I want to know more I will look at the actual "cast" part. I would be totally happy to move up to $2.

The daily news show has become part of my routine πŸ˜ƒ
