01:07 The issue with Youtube Vanced, third party Youtube clients, adblock, and is that piracy, and it's complicated
14:42 The Steam Deck Verified program, and how it's really imperfect and might end up being kinda detrimental to the whole SteamOS / Steam Deck thing
22:15 Personal stuff, like trying to replace my smartwatch, and trying to be more consistent with Youtube Shorts
Don't hesitate to sound off in the comments!

yeah, I always try to pick the sponsors on their merits, and on the usefulness for the audience: I don't want to start promoting Raid Shadow legends (they've asked multiple times), or something to manscape, I want the sponsors to be something I can use, I use, or that I can recommend. Anything else, I'll pass on. It might mean leaving money on the table, but in the end, I think it makes things better for people who watch my stuff!

If I'm looking for privacy videos, I do not mind a VPN or private search engine ad. It is in the same context, it makes sense. I'm actually glad you have Slimbook as a sponser. Should I ever need a new laptop again, I will seriously consider them. What I hate is the supposed personalised ads, tracking and profiling. What I hate more is that even if you allow advertisement on a page, but do block tracking you are treated the same with adblocker warnings. I guess for advertisment companies such as Google, being able to track and profile might be even more important than actually showing the ads.

2022-03-15 20:32:16 +0000 UTCGood to hear your thoughts on advertising as a content creator since I am someone who blocks a lot of ads, but still want to support the content I consume. I did a quick assessment and found I watched 30 videos from your channel over the last 6 months and listen to your podcast every week. I'm wondering if you have a number in mind for what you believe someone who consumes this amount of what you produce should pay. This is the question I ask myself whenever I decide to support a creator, which seems fair to me, but I want to know what someone on the other end thinks.
