2023 August FBS Update!

Hello Everyone,

We're approaching the milestone goal for the next FBS! 

Feature Bounty System

This month we raised $485.90 on Patreon and $48 on Paypal, for a total of $533.90. Our milestone funds are now at $3,124.04. We have only $375.96 to go before reaching the next Milestone. So we're almost guaranteed to have it funded come the first of the month. Which means voting will take place in the middle of September. Remember, we're focusing on the new vehicle designer and either a new vehicle type or redesigning an existing vehicle type for the new vehicle designer for Milestone #2. Milestone #3 will have a lower milestone goal, thus no art-related bounties. 

GearCity

I've knocked all of the 2nd Gear bugs reported to me that I have written down. I still have one more issue pending additional data, and I have three more things in regular GearCity to look into. Once I get these issues cleared up, I will put out an update. Then I start working on the new vehicle designer on Mondays if the Milestone isn't yet funded.  

AeroMogul

Since the last video, I have fixed many of the UI bugs seen in the video. And airport service areas and service area demand are now calculated server side and sent to the client. This feature means different-sized circles for airports based on how many people use them.

The airport's service area, among other things, needs to be improved. It's too large in many cases.

I've also set up a cloud server for bandwidth testing for multiplayer and possible massive multiplayer use. The game runs great locally, but I am unsure how slow sending all this data across the pipe is. 

Miscellaneous

I will be upgrading the webserver tonight. This includes a major jump from PHP7 to PHP8. The last time I attempted this, our translation system broke. So the translation system may temporarily be down for a day or two. There are also a few bugs in any forums/wiki third-party plugins we're using. I will work those out over the next few days as I come across them. Sorry for any inconveniences.
