April 2023 FBS Update

If you missed it, the new GearCity DLC is named "GearCity: 2nd Gear." I'm in the process of putting the final touches on it now. Only 2 more bounties remain, emissions and rebalancing aircraft engine requirements based on a couple of books I obtained for AeroMogul. I've already completed approximately 10% of the emissions bounty. The game now has the entire federal United States emissions requirements. I've stored CO, HC, NOx, PM, and CO2 limits in the data files. However, internally the game uses a GearCity unit called CVES, or Clean Vehicle Emissions Score. I'm currently working on adding the sliders to the engine designer, generating the CVES score for the engine, and then cramming the bits and information everywhere we need it in the UI.
As for Milestone #2, we had a terrific fundraising this month, with $519.19 coming in via Patreon and $40 coming via PayPal. This brings the current fundraising up to $841.70. Our milestone goal is $3500 by April 2024.
I talked with Serhiy a few days ago, and he should be available to make artwork for the next milestone. I'll also see if he can make the logos for Maecenas contributors.
On the AeroMogul front, things are quiet as I grind to complete the GearCity FBS Milestone. 16 Bounties, many discounted, pushed me a week over my time limits, and it looks like another week before I finish. I plan to complete milestone 1 bounties as fast as possible now. Then I will spend an entire month exclusively on AeroMogul, before switching to GearCity v2.0.0.9. By that point, we'll probably be close to funding Milestone #2.

Holy shit, that fundraising progress! I was really worried we wouldn't hit more than one milestone, but this makes me very hopeful. Also happy to hear that Serhiy is in a relatively good spot. Can't wait to get my hands on a new run and being admonished for my dirty, dirty engines. Thanks for the hard work and the news, Eric!
