AeroMogul Update #6 (2022/18/01)
Added 2023-01-18 20:00:32 +0000 UTCHello everyone!
I've recently finished v0.0.2 of AeroMogul.
Since the last update, the game now loads all the world's airports. However, I will still need to curate and edit the airport's data. I have also implemented the initial UI for the advanced slot purchasing system, a quick information system when interacting with the globe. And I have created a basic routing system with interactive visual effects.
I'm now switching focus to the logic/game engine. So my updates will become less visually stimulating. More text, less video. The first task on the to-do list is to make server code and then have the client be able to launch the logic engine and connect to it. After that, I will implement the various data structures into the logic engine. Then populate that data, and begin writing functionality that uses that data. I will then need to pass the information back and forth between the graphical client and the logic engine. Exhilarating stuff? Is it not? It'll be a while before we get back to eye candy.

Part of the audio clip failed. But I can write it out:
"It's taken me about six months with AeroMogul graphical client to do what would have taken me a year and a half to do in GearCity's engine. And that time includes learning a new programming language, several new APIs, and a WYSIWYG editor. Removing the education time, I've only worked on the client for about four months."
In other news, GearCity v2.0.0.8 has passed its initial QA testing. I will likely release an update tomorrow or Friday. AeroMogul Artwork remains delayed thanks to the Russian bombardment of Ukrainian infrastructure. And finally, I will be taking about a week off from working on AeroMogul or GearCity. I have a list of literally 74 tasks I need to do around the house. (Fills almost four pages...) It's a good time for me to take care of them before spring growth season starts and the yardwork takes over. I will still be around for customer/chat support. I just won't be touching code or documentation for that week.

I kind of want to just play around with that globe... Congratulations on the efficiency improvements over GearCity, that is a big deal. Enjoy the week off, as much as the house work allows. I know how it is, always more tempting to work on this cool new feature than to do household work, but it's always nice to have a few of those checked off too.
