December 2022 FBS Update

Hello again everyone,

I have updated your voting points for December. We've got two Patreon users without forum accounts and one PayPal user. Please remember to make an account on https://www.ventdev.com/forums.

Over November, we raised $242.89. That puts us at exactly $1920. We're only $1080 from reaching the milestone, and with five months remaining, we only need $216 per month. If we can maintain our current level of funding, we should be able to clear the milestone goal before the deadline.

In other news, work continues on AeroMogul. As mentioned in the last AeroMogul update, progress slowed down somewhat at the start of the month. I've redirected some GearCity documentation time toward AM with the hope that I can catch up a little.

I am pleased to announce that I have implemented most of the top menu functionality. The parts that I have not implemented have their UI fleshed out. I have also started working on the side menu functionality and UI. I will need to replace a good portion of the backend code for the side menu when I start working on the economics/logic engine for the game. That is a waste of time with duplicated effort, but with how my schedule for next year will shape out, it's the best way to handle it. As mentioned before, I am focused on fleshing out our GUI systems for the game. A technical reason for this is that I have access to my workstation now. That probably won't be the case in a few months. However, I can write the economics/logic engine remotely on a machine incapable of running the graphics engine. I bring this up because of some questioning about my focus/priorities. Normally you would develop the backend first, then the front end. Or develop them in tandem (as I did with GC).

Speaking of GC, I probably have enough issues on my list to make a v2.0.0.8 update. To minimize downtime on AM, I will try to time working on it with a week I plan on taking off to fix things around the house. Else than I can spread it out over the GC Documentation days. Not sure which yet. That's something for me to think of mid-month.

That's all for now. Thank you for your contributions and for reading. I'll have some more AeroMogul UI eye candy for you all in about 2 weeks.

Until then,

Eric
