Life Outside the Capesh*t – A Peek Behind the Curtain
Added 2025-07-30 16:11:49 +0000 UTCSo, another month has zipped by and we’re closing in on the next build. But, as requested, here’s a little update on life outside of Patreon and work, well, at least for some of us.
Let’s start with SR7, who’s been absolutely feral getting this upcoming build together. I figured when I asked him what he’d been up to, I’d get the usual, Path of Exile 2, binging Satisfactory again, maybe rewatching some 90s cartoons for the tenth time. But no. This time around, he’s gone full suburban dad and declared war on his gutters, minus the jorts.
You ever see those little helicopter seeds we used to launch off our noses as kids? Turns out, they’re ash tree seeds. And if you’re not paying attention, they’ll plant an entire forest in your gutters before summer’s even warmed up. SR7 installed gutter guards like a responsible homeowner, but they’ve done about as much good as a screen door on a submarine. Add in a week of surprise rainstorms and you’ve got yourself a slapstick montage. Every time he climbs the ladder, storm clouds roll in like Zeus himself is watching and thinks, “Not today, bitch.” He gets soaked, climbs down, the sun comes out. Rinse, repeat. Literally.
Anyway, wish him luck this weekend. He’s gearing up for another attempt in what we’re now calling Clogged Gutter: Endgame.
Outside of his war with the sky gods, SR7 caught the new Superman and described it as “mid,” which is just tradition at this point. Meanwhile, I finished reading an entire book on accounting systems and another one on financial analytics. Riveting, I know, but I mine those books like I’m panning for gold nuggets we can use to grow our business and bring you all more bang for your buck.
Next up on the nightstand is The Lean Startup. This book? It’s like someone walked into my mental garage, pointed at the pile of tangled parts and said, “Hey, you’ve already got an engine here, you just didn’t bolt it together.” I read it in 30-minute sprints because every chapter sends me running to a whiteboard like I’m solving the Zodiac cipher. We’ve already been applying some of the concepts without realizing it, but now I’m excited to bring them together into a cleaner system.
On a lighter note, I’m back on the homebrew train. Last time, I brewed a 100% German Pils malt Helles and I swear, it was divine, maybe the best I’ve ever done. This round, I’m experimenting with adding a bit more character to it. My last batch of a fruited wheat got infected, which was my first screw-up in years and, yeah, it sucked. But brewing’s like life, you clean up, start fresh, and hope this one sings.
As for gaming, I finally dove into Days Gone after letting it rot in my PS+ library for ages. Why did I sleep on this one? It’s amazing. Great story, tight pacing, solid voice work, and every mini-arc feeds into the bigger picture. Also: fuck Skizzo. If you know, you know.
Now Henshin? He’s built different. When I asked what he was up to outside of work for this post, he goes, “Does working on my game count?” Hell yes it counts. Man’s not resting, he’s crafting. He just brought a 3D artist onto his side project, and he’s incorporating full 3D scenes. Oh, and he’s waiting patiently for Dragon Ball: The Breakers Season 9 like it’s Christmas morning.
(Here's an image from his hobby)

So, while we’re out here dodging lightning bolts and brewing redemption beers, know that we’re still deeply entrenched in our worlds, whether it’s capes, code, or clogged gutters.
Thanks everyone for getting this far!
