10 Years of SU: From Bend or Break to... Well, We're Still Breaking Things

We’ve come a long way, and we wouldn’t be here without you.

Exactly 10 years ago this month, SR7 came to me raving about a game made by some guy named Akabur. I’d never heard of him, but the way SR7 described it? I was in. That night, we dropped everything we were doing and dove headfirst into the world of western erotic games aka porn games.

I spent two weeks submerged in the wild west that was ULMF and 4chan. Those were the main hubs back then. If you know, you know. The reigning champ at the time was Breeding Season, and the whole scene was chaotic, scrappy, and full of energy. We weren't sure what to make of it.

Meanwhile, SR7 locked himself away and didn’t touch another human for two weeks, kind of like Rogue but way less sexy. Out of that isolation came Bend or Break. It was janky, messy, and barely functional... but it worked. July officially marked the first full month of SU development. That first release? It was just an intro. Just a taste. And somehow, it was enough to get the ball rolling.

Fast forward 10 years: countless builds, wild ideas, wins, losses, and save bugs later, we’re still here. Still building. Still figuring it out.

To celebrate, we’re planning a Twitch stream where we’ll hang out, play games, answer your questions, and maybe even spill a few secrets. We’ll have a date for you soon.
