THE BOY IN A WELL

I feel like there was always a spot were )legend has it) a kid died in some horrible way. I've often wondered about the origins of these stories. did big kids are them up to scare little ones? did adults make them up to keep kids out of dangerous areas? Or did a kid actually die there?

...

Did you hear that!? You did? My apologies. I had Taco Bell for lunch.

"That's the weird thing. I went straight onto the internet when I got home to see if his death made the news but there was nothing. Just... nothing. And then when I asked the counselors this year it was like they'd forgotten all about him. I've never been more freaked out by something in my life!" You just need to be a bit creative! :V

Ugh now you’re making me channel boomers “damn phones ruining my ability to mentally scar children”

I remember a lot of legends like this. Pretty sure they were all fakes.

I wonder if kids still do that at camp? Seems it’d be a hard sell with smart phones in the picture. Quick google search could dispel most myths.

One year at summer camp, one of the older kids told us that across the lake there was a mental institution for murderers and one of the patients had escaped and that he could be anywhere but none of us were supposed to know so we wouldn’t panic. It was a very stressful week. That’s the closest I got to a dead kid legend. Though me, my brother and a neighbor friend got to star in a THP commercial for Halloween safety. We played trick-or-treaters and my neighbor friend played the kid in our group who ran out into the street and got hit by a car. (FYI I feel bad for child actors, we got chosen because they liked my grandparents’ Halloween decorations and asked if they knew any kids that would be in it. The whole commercial was probably 30 seconds, our part maybe half that and we had to redo the same scene over and over for hours)
