Almost...as good as the comic. Definitely in the same ball park being hit out way over the wall like Babe Ruth. The crowd goes wild and then asks "Who is Babe Ruth?"

2021-07-07 17:58:00 +0000 UTCI think I was like 10 or 11 when I was like “I’m a man! I ain’t gonna cry!” Plus I was always double booked with my younger brother, so I had to be tough! Still asked for the sucker, though. I’m brave, not a fool. ;)

2021-07-07 15:33:27 +0000 UTCI was the same until about Kevin’s age. Then a weird thing happened: Tauhid discovered girls. So after a pretty nurse told me I looked like a tough guy i committed my very first act of toxic masculinity and pretended not to be phased by the needle. Turned out it didn’t hurt that much when I wasn’t thrashing and crying the whole time. Also related: it’s impossible to continue looking tough while asking for a sucker.

But when I was Kevin’s age, my doctor was old school, and old and kind of scary, and a parent and nurse would have to hold me down. Traumatic memories of being in tighty-whities, being restrained and getting shots in my arms and thighs. At least I got a sucker out of it.
