Plan for Shadow Island R4

Hey everyone,

After a few days of vacations at the end of August, we are back and have massively resumed the work for Divimera!

This update will be an important stone to the edifice by bringing two animated NSFW scenes, the first one (of Molly) is now completed and took a lot of work but it is really beautiful and I can't wait for you to discover it in the game. The second one will be shared in the coming days. There is also a third one that is already designed but it was moved to R5 in order to have the time and not make the wait as long.

That said, I decided to show the Molly scene here for the most curious because after these few days of vacations, it seemed inappropriate not to show anything under cover of spoiler. However, if you wish I invite you not to look at the post containing the preview of the scene in order to keep the surprise.

As far as the story is concerned, the update will focus on finding a way out of the city. This quest will lead you to explore Isaac's house:

A few surprises will await you in this place, but also the discovery of an item that will allow you to illuminate dark places since part of the update will take place at night and then extend to the end of the next day.

Later in the update, you'll discover a murder scene and the mystery will thicken even more, bringing forward the horror part of the adventure that wasn't too present until now. 


I also started working on a mini-game that will take place at the guard post at the entrance of the city. It will allow you to raise the level of sanity through betting on goods. These goods can then be exchanged with the doctor in the village for potions to gain sanity (as in R2). This will offer some flexibility and various ways to raise the sanity level. However it is possible that the system is too easy at the beginning, these kinds of things are difficult to balance until the game is complete but I prefer that people can go through the game without difficulty than the opposite, or even worse to find themselves soft locked because we did not foresee certain outcomes. We'll refine this with time but it's possible that the old saves are easier than the new ones.

Heavy work in progress:

The mini-game will make its first appearance in R5, it was originally planned for R4 but we ended up reworking the script in a way that it made impossible (the guards won't be at their usual spot most of the time during R4).


There are some other pieces that are being worked on right now and are close to completion so I'll be posting it as it gets finished in the coming days. But here is one of the new backgrounds, it's the other side of the town square which will be used during the dream sequence in R5.
