I hope you enjoyed Elanor's ending. The next ending for Tyrant Quest is gonna be Lili and as usual you can expect the update to be released between the 18-20th Mars.
Outside of this, a whole lot of work on the new game, it's shaping really good and a ton of promising stuff, it will be a great moment for me personally when you can play it, it's really painful to not be able to make it play sooner but I want it to look really finished/polished in the visuals, have no bugs and basically, all the departments working when it releases, I'm pushing as much as I can every day so that it can release properly the sooner possible despite the timely approach. I hope this approach pays off, the goal is to have a perfect foundation, then once that foundation is 0 bugs, looks great etc. Then we can add/build on top of it.
This week Kojack attempted the first trial of sex animation and I'll post one of the trials with the sketches, they are not NSFW so I couldn't post them with the news. This was one of the first criticisms of Tyrant Quest when we first landed the game, people were expecting the same level of animation as Fall of Juliet at least. We standardized a bit on Tyrant Quest, a bit too much in my opinion but it is what it is, I try to not look back, once a concept/scope is validated I try to roll with it to the very end. Tyrant Quest has always been intended as a fast-paced update game, kind of a webserie, with a lot of episodes, a steady monthly release, and a middle ground between quality and the time needed to be able to release every month. Animations would have slowed down the process too much and this wouldn't have worked well considering the big numbers of the scenes we have in the game.
However, in the new game, I'm trying a different approach, something that takes the time and seeks to do things just below or close to the highest degree we can. So now we are back with animation and enhanced them a lot, the number of frames is much higher, it feels like proper animation, it's really super cool looking for the modest team we have. Here the philosophy is different, not as many scenes as Tyrant Quest but taking the time to do animation and many great looking things that are very time consuming to make.
I hope this approach pays off, the time will tell. For now, I will post the new sketches for the End of Lili and an animation test on the new game with the sprite of the girl that is in the scene. I hope you like it.
