Improving my shots with gaussian splatting...

Gaussian Splatting is a pretty mind-blowing technology with some creative potential 😁 This was generated and animated in Jawset Postshot, exported as EXR and graded in Resolve, where I changed the background color. (video is mute)

Always awesome when tech meets art!

I'm a 3D geek allright :D

Wow you clearly have a lot of experience with that :)

Oh yeah, ihe image sequence is assembled into a quilt with a Resolve script I wrote https://github.com/PatHightree/Looking-Glass-batch-tools

Normal camera to gaussian splats in postshot, from which I rendered a panning image sequence

PatHightree

That's cool, was that made with a actual lightfield camera or is that also a gaussian splatting type of 3D scan?

Posy

Yeah, incredible how well 3DGS manages to capture view-dependent effects Btw, it's also great for creating holograms for Lookingglass displays https://blocks.glass/pathightree/123427 https://blocks.glass/pathightree/123719

Gaussian splatting is such a cool tech, didn't think it could be so useful in animating shots of static object though, this is really neat
