Here it is at last, the script for SKULLKICKERS #100 (aka. Skullkickers #34) from 2015, the final issue of the ongoing series. It's a meta-commentary on storytelling, fantasy and archetypes, and also a send off for our heroic idiots.

Skullkickers changed my life. Without that run I never would have become a regular comic writer or had the chance to work on sword & sorcery titles like Conan the Barbarian, Dungeons & Dragons, Red Sonja, Pathfinder, and others.

Some of things we parodied in the series, especially arbitrary issue numbering (new #1's and legacy anniversary issues) is even more common now in 2023. It's also weird to think that a 30+ issue run is considered an epic nowadays with constant creative team shuffles and reboots being the norm.

ISSUE 100?!! Hey, if other publishers can just slap any old number on a cover and call it an anniversary, then we want in on that action for our final issue.
