News Update (8/25/21)

Hey all! It's been a hell of a summer, and a hell of a week, struggling through a bunch of real life stuff, and it isn't looking like things are going to be lightening up anytime soon. As it is, I've been struggling to find time to write consistently, which I'm sure has been frustrating for readers out there, who would like more content on a regular basis. I too would like more content on a regular basis! It's always a goal, though whether I have the time/energy to meet that goal is a separate question. 

So! A few things. I would like to get back into the habit of updating folks a bit more regularly on what's going on with the creative front, since a lot of projects I'm working on don't always have much to show in the way of public progress. I'm also hoping to redirect some of my more limited energy towards shorter content--captions, suggested stories, and flash fiction--which is a lot less draining on my time and energy. That said, I'm within striking distance of this third arc of The Pigtown Chronicles, which has been driving me absolutely insane over the last few months, with rewrites, restructures, characters wanting to do things that I didn't have planned from the beginning, those dang characters *shakes fist*. I want to get that done ASAP--ideally in the next couple of weeks, and as a way to subtly encourage me to do that, starting next Monday, I'm going to start posting chapters of the third arc here! I'm sure that will drive me to finish the damn ending, by the time I have to post it, right? Surely this won't backfire on me at all.

I do honestly prefer posting stories only once they're completed--there's nothing more frustrating than getting halfway into someone's story only to discover it's unfinished and hasn't been updated in years. But I've put it off long enough, I think, and surely the ending I have planned this time won't crumble in my fingers as I try and write it.

Do I sound confident? No? What else is new!

The other thing sucking up more of my time has been the video content I've been producing and posting on justfor.fans and youtube. I've really been enjoying the change of medium, bringing some of this stuff that I'm always thinking about to life beyond the written word. Patrons get a whole month free for one buck! I'm hoping to find a good balance between writing and video as we move forward, but until I can take some irl work off my plate, it's just going to be chaotic, and I'm trying to embrace that. I'm moving into the holiday season at work, which is hectic, and some other developments at my job are going to be pulling me away, so...content will likely get disrupted, I'll just be honest. Never doubt that I'm not pounding away at projects for all of you, and never doubt that I don't appreciate all of the support you give me month to month. That said, finances are tight all around, I never hold it against anyone if they need to unsubscribe.

That said, more changes are afoot, and coming soon. I'm going to be opening up my discord to the whole public sometime in the next few months--that seems to be the easiest place to post and host caption content, along with, possibly, some other things I'd like to try once things settle down post holidays. In any case, that's about all the updates I have for now--questions are always welcome.
