Weekly Update (5/12/20)

Look at me go! Another weekly update on time, it's a bit of a miracle. First, here's a bit of a round up of stuff you may have missed:

* If you're new, or missed it last week, I updated how patrons can access my draft and archive folders, and also expanded the archive by quite a bit. If you missed that post, you can find more details here. (And $10 patrons, you can find out more about draft access here.)

* The interactive stories about those sneaky orcs and monks are both coming to close in the next day or two. I'm not sure what interactive I'll do next--it might be a fantasy one, it might be something else, we'll see.

* The suggestion box is open! Ideas are always accepted--you're never too late. I also posted a story off some of the suggestions over here, if you missed it.

* Beyond that, the story sites have been a bit dry lately on stuff I'm usually interested in. But if you are on FA, you might be interested in this fellow's page. Always nice to see someone back from the possibly dead.

As for what I've been up to the last week, I'm plugging away at a larger version of the Orcish Recon story, and turning it into a little twine adventure. For a little visual progress report, here's what things look like right now:

Hopefully in a week or two I'll have a rough version up for patrons to toy around with! It's been a fun project, and It's been nice getting back into the programming language twine uses, and figuring out a few of the things that had always perplexed me before. I wouldn't exactly call it a complicated thing--beyond an inventory system and some branching stuff, it's not all that amazing, but I'm trying to not get hung up on trying to do all of the things all at once. I'd rather try and get some smaller things out, build my skill set, and then maybe I can tackle some of the more...elaborate ideas I have in my head.

Once the twine is finished, I'll post a download link for patrons at the $5 dollar level--otherwise, you'll be able to get it over at my itch.io store! Did you know I had one of those? There's some stuff over there that might interest you, if you didn't!

Beyond that, not much to report. Hope you all are staying safe and healthy as best you can. Thanks for your support as always!
