Weekly Roundup - 06/05/2022 - Sketch-outs of Intro Cutscene and Lore Entries

Hi Everyone.


This week was a productive one for setting a lot of work up for others by way of making sketches and assets which we'll get into.


For FANs seeking new content: I'm aiming for releasing two new Bindmancer builds this month. One next week and one on the 27th. So keep an eye out! :D

1: What's New?

So this week I worked on two key things:


One: Sketching out and animating the intro cutscene for the game that gives context to why The Bindmancer is entering into the dungeon.


The reason it has to be sketched out first is so I can give a contracted artist all the materials they need to make the most accurate content possible. Like what I did with the level select tower.


Two: Sketching out all the lore entries for the first wing (5 Levels) of the dungeon so that I can get an artist started on them.


I also worked on the system in-game for displaying the right asset to the right lore pickup.


This will take the artist a few months to get to but the results should be great!



There's also some other contracting-related prep-work I did this week. I've gotten into contact with a new programmer to see if he can lend a hand with the enemy AI and movement scripts. It's early days but I'm hoping he'll be able to work on the enemy collision issue.

2: What's Next?

I think for next week I'll spend some time focused on making a proper tutorial level that teaches the basics for how to play the game. It's been needed for a while now and once I've created it I can do away with the "Demo Controls" UI that's been stuck at the corner of the screen.


So there we go! Lots of work focused around getting some artist contractors the content they need to get to work over the next few months.


And getting more narrative and "lore" into the game has been needed for a long while now. I hope the added context and lore motivates players to continue on the Bindmancers quest!

Weekly Roundup - 29/04/2022 - Level Select Screen + Gameplay Improvements

Hi everyone!


Hope your week has gone well.


Made good progress in getting back into The Bindmancer this week. Lets talk about what I got up to!

1: What's New?

So this week I was a mixture of some off-screen production work (Estimating future tasks and things I need to contract out.) and some solid dev-work on the Bindmancer.


A new build is available for FANs who want to play it!


To run through what got done this week:


There a new level select screen art. Including an intro scene to the tower of desires.


- I tweaked the player attack response timing to allow attacks to be hit more rapidly. This was done because I think some attacks where not registering as hits previously when attacks where made more rapidly.


- Decreased the animation time for cultists being forgiven and released once defeated to make the gameplay better. They where lingering on a tile for too long.


- Tweaked the "Release or Punish" UI for defeated cultists. It was a bit odd to just have it in the right corner of the UI.


- Experimenting with moving the beat UI for trying to free wall-mounted prisoners. Further work will be done on this as I need to improve the positioning of the UI for maximum visibility.


2: What's Next?

For next week I'll be doing a large collection of rough sketches for all the yet-to-be-filled lore entries that are present in the game. One alone of these isn't time consuming but I need to create about 16 of them. Hahah!


Once I get these sketched out I'll be able to contract out these sketches to fellow artists and writers to bring a lot of art quality, written lore, and life to the game!

The Bindmancer - April 29th Build

Hi Everyone!

After some time off and some hard weeks of work I have a fresh build which expands the scope of the game to include multiple levels.


A disclaimer for now that the infrastructure for displaying and collecting in-game lore is in the build. But the lore itself is currently not present.


A tip for those installing the newest build over an older build: Delete all the content of the old build before you unzip the new one to avoid any issues.

What's new in this build? - April 29th

New level select screen art. Including an intro scene to the tower of desires.

Tweaked the player attack response timing to allow attacks to be hit more rapidly.

Decreased the animation time for cultists being forgiven and released once defeated to make the gameplay better. They where lingering on a tile for too long.

Tweaked the "Release or Punish" UI for defeated cultists.

Experimenting with moving the beat UI for trying to free wall-mounted prisoners. Further work will be done on this.

Requirements & How to Install:

Playable on a PC using a Windows OS.

The game will boot up full screen and set to your monitors native resolution.

You can now change the resolution in the options menu to an adjustable windowed mode where you can set it to your preference.


To Install It:

Download the zip file

You MUST unzip all the contents of the zipfile to any folder. The game cannot run from inside the zipped file.

Windows can unzip it by itself. You don't need to download any third party software like WINRAR.

You can run the demo by entering the unzipped folder and double clicking on the file named: Kinky Dungeon Project


Common Install Issues:

Delete all prior files from previous versions / public demo if you're installing to the same folder location.


If you don't unzip the contents of the folder, you can't play the game.

If the game opens and then closes without a screen showing, that's typically a graphic driver issue, update your graphics cards drivers and restart your pc.


Unity games don't like being placed in folders deeply nested in multiple folders. This is due to long file directory names messing with Unity. 3 to 5 folders deep is fine. More and it gets wonky.


If controls don't respond = It's probably a controller you have plugged into or connected to your computer. Remove it to use Keyboard controls.

Weekly Roundup - 22/04/2022 - So much Biz Dev!

Hi everyone!

Hope you've had a fantastic week. Lets get into it!

1: What's New?

There's not much to report in terms of development progress this week after the release of Who's a Good Girl?



What I did do this week though is spend it catching up on some much needed business development tasks. Which included getting Ticklish Tessa submitted for a steam release and also updating the "About Me" Pages on Patreon and SubStar to best reflect the newest content and demos.


As well as get Pixiv FANBOX up and running! Hello all! :D


The bulk of that catching up is done though so next week will be focused on getting back into development for the Bindmancer.


One thing I can show this week though that got completed was the artwork for the external shot of the tower you see on the level select screen. It still needs integration into Unity but it looks incredible! Done by the talented artist Lady-Dino.


Also. Can you spot the easter egg? :3

2: What's Next?

Next week will be getting back into The Bindmancer.


In fact the next few months will be focused in on development for The Bindmancer. There's tons to work on from:

- Developing the Lore and the Intro Story. I'll be looking to hire an artist to create some sketch works that'll act as illustrations for the lore pickups.

- Developing the combat systems (And fixing some movement bugs)

- Creating new kinky content for the dungeon.

- Improving the content that's already there.


There's tons to do!

From a game production standpoint I’ve been active in the commercial games industry since 2006. I've worked on console games through to mobile phone games.


Having developed my game making skills at professional studios, I aim to take those skills and use them to create games that are fun and unique. Working with themes that a small team can do well whereas large teams cannot justify as viable.
